POST-CONFERENCE TRAINING

Wednesday, January 26, 2011
8:00AM to 5:00PM Large Loss Workshop
Instructor: Pat Dooley
Large Losses… that’s a heck of a topic. Most restorers are somewhat confident that they can manage a project if they are awarded the loss. But by golly… why is it that some guys are better at getting the signature on the contract than others? What’s their “trick”?! The most secretive and protected information is “How to get Ink!”.  This high value education opportunity will explore some of the methods used in catching the big ones.
$199.00

2:00PM to 6:00PM Two-Day Workshop: Project Management (Day 1)
Instructor: Tim Ennis
Many Project Managers and Restoration Business Owners are caught short when they either “take their eye off the ball” or are unknowingly led down the wrong path on a project. Identifying issues before they become critical is the theme of this segment. Learn how to manage these issues and consequently reduce risk to your balance sheet.  Bring solutions to your nightmare projects and share them with others during the open forum. Please note this is a 2-day course.
$499.00

2:00PM to 6:00PM Contents Workshop
Instructor: Barb Jackson
Of all the tasks assumed by today’s restoration professional, the care, custody and control of the customer’s personal belongings are perhaps the most fraught with risk. How can this risk be controlled when the project requires the restorer to handle or even remove contents from the structure? This course will explore innovated methods in inventory, packaging and handling techniques. This is an ideal course for contents restoration division managers.
$199.00

2:00PM to 6:00PM Business Financial Planning & Accounting Workshop
Instructor: Dale Sailer
This three hour course will take the attendee through a high level process by which they can build an annual and multi-year operating plan for their business, to include budgeting, forecasting, and operational management.  This is not an estate planning, succession planning, or exit strategy course.  This course is intended to share the fundamentals of how to get your arms around a simple, repeatable process to bring order to your budgeting and planning challenges so that you can adequately guide your organization to long term growth and success. This course is open to DKI Member Companies only.
$199.00

Thursday, January 27, 2011
8:00AM to 5:00PM Two-Day Workshop: Project Management (Day 2)
Instructor: Tim Ennis
The restoration industry tends to employ a transient group of restoration technicians due in part to an unclear career path that leads them to a position of management (usually the title of “Project Manager”). Tim Ennis will spend a day assisting business owners in the development of a career program designed to retain quality technicians and empower them to grow and be in control of their career success. This course is of interest and value to all restoration professionals including technicians, project managers and business owners. Please note this is a 2-day course.

8:00AM to 5:00PM Advanced Water Course
Workshop Details TBA
$499.00

8:00AM to 5:00PM Industry Documentation Procedures
Instructor: Ken Larsen, CR, WLS
The easy creation of a comprehensive record of drying has been a challenge since the beginning of the restorative drying industry. The current practice of recording a few environmental conditions fails to establish a conclusion on drying efficacy. Expensive remote sensing technology fails to eliminate the need for daily visits. Written records are typically messy and confusing to interpret. There MUST be an easier way to produce a complete solution.
$399.00

8:00AM to 5:00PM Advanced Drying Techniques Featuring Large Equipment & Desiccant Technology
Instructors: Todd Bradley & Steve Morgan
IICRC has suggested a dehumidifier “starting suggestion” formula. This is essentially a “day 1” formula only. However, what does a person do on day 2, 3, 4, etc to meet their drying objectives? How does a restoration professional achieve their drying objectives with their equipment strategies? How does a person define these objectives? How does the restorer document these changes and requirements? All tools will be included in the discussion including LGRs, desiccants and heaters.  THIS CLASS IS RECOMMENDED FOR VERY ADVANCED DRYING EXPERTS ONLY.
$399.00

9:00AM to 3:00PM Insights Golf Outing
